Huntsville Divorce Attorney

Huntsville Divorce Attorney

If you are facing a divorce, you undoubtedly have a number of questions:

  • How long will my divorce take?

  • To what am I entitled?

  • Am I entitled to my spouse's retirement (or will I have to share it with my spouse)?

  • Am I entitled to alimony (or will I pay it)?

  • Can my spouse move with the kids or take them out of state?

I am attorney Jonathan Pippin, an experienced Christian family relations attorney in Huntsville, Alabama. Through my practice at Jonathan Pippin, Attorney at Law, I routinely answer questions like these for clients across North Alabama.

I can ably represent you in negotiations and litigation relating to a divorce, in matters including property and debt division, family support (child support and alimony), and child-related issues including custody, visitation and relocation.

Domestic Relations And Child Support Attorney Serving Madison, Huntsville And North Alabama

Contact me and I will meet with you in person to discuss your concerns confidentially. I will listen to you, comfort you, and counsel you so that you understand your options under the law. I will ask you many questions so that I can analyze the legal issues in your case, understand your objectives, correctly assess your situation, and advise you on a legal course.

Depending on the answers to these questions, I may advise you to seek a settlement or to pursue matters directly in court. There are reasons for each choice: Settlement can save money, time (a contested divorce can take up to one to two years to resolve), and emotional anguish for everyone involved, yet is not always possible or advisable.

When a situation is unsolvable by the parties, it may merit a decision by a judge. In such cases, I represent my clients with zeal, energy and an intense attention to the details of the case. If your situation involves violence, or threats of violence, against you or your children, I will assist you in getting the emergency help you need, including a protection from abuse order (PFA).

Keeping You Informed; Supporting Your Decisions

I make myself available to my clients whenever possible. Unless I am in court, I will answer your calls, emails and other correspondence promptly, so you can stay abreast of developments.

Whether or not a divorce goes to trial, it is almost always a trial emotionally. I am concerned about my clients' physical, financial, emotional and spiritual well-being. In addition to providing you with legal advice, I will help you find an appropriate counselor to help you through your grief.

Although I make my living shepherding people through the divorce process, I do not hesitate to refer them to marriage counselors if there is hope for a reconciliation. Sometime couples must stand at the brink of divorce before they realize its full implications. If you reach that point and decide you would rather work things out, I will stand by you and assist in any way I can. My duty, and my goal, is to help you reach your objectives.

Further, if you have gone to another lawyer and been dissatisfied with your results, I can review your case. We can see if my approach will work better for you moving forward.
